Welcome to The Old Ambulance Station, or Yr Hen Orsaf Ambiwlans, our holiday home from home for us and three dogs - Esme, Calypso and Ruby. We hope that you will enjoy staying here with your family, and we are happy to welcome upto 3 well-behaved dogs.
The house is in Reynoldston, bang in the middle of Gower Peninsula, an area of outstanding natural beauty. Its close, by car, to all the Gower beaches which are world class, and about 30 minutes drive from Swansea. We have been coming to this area for our holidays for number of years, always drawn to Rhossili and the wonderful beach there. Our preferred house to stay has been Glebe Farm which sits on the pathway at the top of the beach with beautiful views of the bay, Worm's Head and Rhossili Down. We have for a long time dreamed of having a holiday home in the area, and earlier in 2021 we decided that we would look for a place of our own where we could bring our dogs with us. We found this house through the usual estate agent portals, but we were surprised and thought it a little spooky to learn that it was built by the same person who had built Glebe Farm.
The house is sited exactly where the Reynoldston Ambulance Station used to be before it was decommissioned, and is right next to the Police and Fire Stations on one side and the village hall on the other, and directly opposite St George's Church: the road is a non-through road, and very quiet. The Old Ambulance Station was built about 3 years ago to a high specification, with tecchy features that include underfloor heating downstairs, solar panels, enhanced fire safety with a sprinkler system, CCTV outside, electric gates and garage doors, sound system. We have just installed a woodburning stove to create a cosy feel in the sitting room, and we have plans to install a hot tub in Spring 2022.
